Cabbagetown South is a neighbourhood primarily made up of Victorian heritage homes, many of which are part of the Cabbagetown South Heritage Conservation District. This community is described as the largest continuous area of preserved Victorian housing in all of North America.

Toronto City Council had another full and engaging agenda this past April 16 and 17. There was timely discussion about fixing the Vacant Home Tax, big strides in improving tenant assistance for those impacted by rental demolitions, and plans to expand both its Student Nutrition Program and the Alcohol in Parks program. 

Statement: Protest at Parliament Street and Gerrard Street East

Over the weekend, a demonstration in support of Palestine made its way through Regent Park. At Parliament Street and Gerrard Street East the demonstration was interrupted when Toronto Police attempted to seize a truck that was in motion with people on its bed, in violation of the Highway Traffic Act.

Statement: Shooting at Parliament and Dundas

Toronto Police have informed me that this afternoon, there was a shooting at a residence near Dundas Street East and Parliament Street that left two people dead and one with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
