We believe in diversity and inclusiveness. We are committed to ensuring that events that we host, co-host, or attend are conducted in an environment of respect, safety, and inclusivity.
This Code of Conduct applies to everyone involved in the event, including attendees, speakers, organizers, and volunteers.
Everyone present at the event must be treated with respect and dignity. Discrimination or Harassment of any form, whether verbal or physical, will not be tolerated. Our events are designed to be safe spaces for all attendees. Harassment includes but is not limited to verbal language that reinforces social structures of domination related to gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disabilities, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, age, religion, or other protected category; sexual imagery in public spaces; deliberate intimidation; stalking; following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; offensive verbal language; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately.
While we champion freedom of speech and expression, we expect all participants to exercise this right responsibly. We believe in fostering an atmosphere that encourages open dialogue, productive conversation, and the effective functioning of our democracy. Comments should be constructive, respectful, and related to the discussion at hand.
We appreciate passion and enthusiasm for the issues being discussed. However, to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment, we will not tolerate banners, chanting, or any other forms of disruptive behaviour. While we understand individuals may have strong opinions, our goal is to facilitate a balanced and non-partisan discussion that respects everyone’s right to hear and be heard.
Everyone has the right to privacy. Attendees, speakers, organizers, and volunteers who do not wish to be photographed, videotaped, or recorded should request a sticker from the event organizers.
Attendees taking photos, videos, or recordings must obtain the consent of the subjects of the photos, videos, or recordings.
If you do not request a privacy sticker, by entering this event, you hereby grant the event organizers the right to take photographs, videotape and/or make audiovisual recordings of you and to own, licence, assign and/or use the same or any portion thereof, anytime and anywhere, in any current or future manner and/or medium.
All participants must adhere to security measures put in place for the full duration of the event, including entry and exit. If you experience or witness any behaviour that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately to the event organizers.
Breach of this Code of Conduct may result in immediate removal from the event and barring from future events. Serious breaches may also be reported to local law enforcement.
We thank everyone for their cooperation in upholding this Code of Conduct and look forward to a productive, respectful, and enjoyable event.
