Apply for a Neighbourhood Climate Action Grant!

Neighbourhood Climate Action Grants provide up to $7,500 in funding for resident-led projects that reduce emissions, raise awareness about climate change and strengthen community engagement. These grants support the goals of the TransformTO Net Zero Strategy and Toronto Strong Neighbourhoods Strategy

Funding is available for resident led-groups with a focus on neighbourhood improvement areas, evolving communities and equity-deserving groups. The City does not provide funding to non-profits, individuals or businesses. Groups must have at least three members, each with a different Toronto address.

Eligible projects include programs that help residents and neighbourhoods to reduce emissions from homes and buildings, reduce waste, improve active transportation, as well as education initiatives such as workshops, interpretative art and local education campaigns that focus on climate change. Application details are available on the Neighbourhood Climate Action Grants – City of Toronto webpage.

More than 130 residents participated in community safety meetings hosted by my office and Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) this spring in St. James Town and Moss Park. The meetings brought together residents, TCHC staff, Toronto Police Service, the City's Violence Intervention and Support Unit, Fred Victor, and Unison Health and Community Services to discuss local safety concerns and identify solutions.
