Community Builder Awards Recognize. Celebrate. Inspire

Toronto Centre is a vibrant community filled with remarkable individuals who go above and beyond to make our neighbourhoods a better place to live, work, and play. It's inspiring to witness the boundless dedication, energy, and passion that our residents pour into improving our community.

Throughout the past year, I've had the pleasure of meeting countless incredible people who have truly made a difference. From tending to public gardens and adorning our streets with beautiful murals, to championing safer neighbourhoods and even naming our beloved laneways, their contributions have made our neighbourhoods more lively, connected, and vibrant.

Now, it's time to come together as a community and shine a spotlight on those who have gone above and beyond to create positive change in Toronto Centre.

All residents of Toronto Centre are encouraged to nominate individuals who have made a positive impact on our community. Whether they organize after-school programs, mentor our youth, lead initiatives promoting well-being, or work to preserve our shared history, we want to recognize their exceptional efforts.

The Community Builder Awards will be presented annually at our Toronto Centre Holiday Party to recognize and honour the unsung heroes of our neighbourhoods!

Make a difference, be recognized!

Eligibility Criteria

Nominations are open to everyone in Toronto Centre, and we encourage you to participate in this celebration of our community's remarkable individuals, organizations, and small businesses. To submit a nomination, ensure the following criteria are met.

Individuals must:

be a resident of Toronto Centre
have made a significant contribution to the community within the last two years
have not been previously recognized with a Community Builder Award
have made voluntary contributions that are beyond their regular paid employment

Organizations must:

be located within Toronto Centre
serve the residents of Toronto Centre
have made a significant impact in the community within the last two years
have not been previously recognized with a Community Builder Award
made up of at least three people
governed by a volunteer Board of Directors
not be a school, hospital, or any other government institution

Businesses must:

be located within Toronto Centre
have made a significant impact in the community within the last two years
have not been previously recognized with a Community Builder Award
be an independently owned small business
not be a franchise

Eligible Nominators

Nominators must:

be a resident of Toronto Centre

Nominators can't:

work or volunteer for the organization/business they are nominating
be a board member of the organization they are nominating
be the owner of the business they are nominating

Complete the online nomination form below. Nominations are accepted year-round. Nominations received after September 30 at 11:59pm will be considered the following year.
