At Home in Toronto: On Now Until November 30

Discover rarely seen artifacts from the City’s collection alongside items from community members at the Market Gallery’s free At Home in Toronto exhibition on now until November 30. From a World War One soldier’s return ticket home to family heirlooms passed through generations and artworks by celebrated Toronto artists, the exhibition invites visitors to explore the many ways we define, create, and carry home with us.

The exhibition showcases a diverse collection of objects related to the concept of home, including community, family and personal artifacts; artworks by celebrated artists like Robert Houle, Frantz Brent-Harris and Natalie Wood; a documentary video addressing Canada’s ongoing housing crises; and a reflection station where visitors can share their own thoughts on the meaning of home.

At Home in Toronto is on now until November 30, 2025 at the Market Gallery, located on the second floor of St. Lawrence Market, 95 Front Street East. The gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday, 11:00am to 4:00pm. Home-themed pop-up exhibits are also taking place at several Toronto History Museums across the city. Learn more on the City's website.

More than 130 residents participated in community safety meetings hosted by my office and Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) this spring in St. James Town and Moss Park. The meetings brought together residents, TCHC staff, Toronto Police Service, the City's Violence Intervention and Support Unit, Fred Victor, and Unison Health and Community Services to discuss local safety concerns and identify solutions.
