City Response to U.S. Tariffs

The City of Toronto supports a Team Canada approach and is working with government leaders from across the country to address the impact of proposed U.S. tariffs on our businesses. Toronto plays an integral role in Canada's economy and the City is ready to take action to support local businesses, workers and residents.

The City is taking action by establishing a U.S. Engagement Secretariat, supporting "Buy/Support Canadian" initiatives and working with business and labour leaders to navigate trade disruptions. The City is also coordinating with federal and provincial governments to minimize impacts and support local businesses. The City is also monitoring impacts, advising on solutions and developing an action plan to support Toronto’s economy.

TCHC Community Safety Update

More than 130 residents participated in community safety meetings hosted by my office and Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) this spring in St. James Town and Moss Park. The meetings brought together residents, TCHC staff, Toronto Police Service, the City's Violence Intervention and Support Unit, Fred Victor, and Unison Health and Community Services to discuss local safety concerns and identify solutions.
