New Lighting Installed to Dr. O Lane

I have good news in the Cabbagetown South community! Toronto Hydro has completed lighting improvements on Dr. O Lane between Silkweed Lane and Ontario Streets were completed in March. Three luminaire street lamps were replaced with new LEDs to help with visibility.

This improvement came from a June 2024 idea submitted through TorontoCentreProjects.ca’s to redo the existing paving with interlocking bricks and add new lights at Dr. O Lane in Cabbagetown South. These improvement elements were brought to the attention of staff for feasibility review.

Transportation Services staff deemed the pavement condition at this location as highly rated and relatively new. However, the lighting after dark was reviewed  by Toronto Hydro, and resulted in the new LED lighting.

We hope that this improvement will make Dr. O Lane brighter at night and bring a sense of safety for those walking home in the evenings. If you have other requests to improve your neighbourhood, please post a proposal on TorontoCentreProjects.ca today!

Please fill out this survey to provide feedback on the mural location and theme.
