New Red Tape Hotline for Businesses

Business operators in Toronto can now report their experiences with red tape to the City, such as cumbersome municipal processes, permitting delays and duplicative or outdated bylaws. The City wants to make it easier to do business in Toronto by modernizing regulations and streamlining services.

The hotline is for operators of businesses located in Toronto to report red tape or regulatory burdens faced at the municipal level. The pilot project will end on Sunday, November 30.

City staff will track and analyze submissions received to identify common regulatory challenges and potential opportunities for modernization or streamlining of City processes. Staff will report out with a summary of what was received from the public along with recommendations for improvements in Q1 2026. Find more information about the City of Toronto Red Tape Hotline for Businesses.

More than 130 residents participated in community safety meetings hosted by my office and Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) this spring in St. James Town and Moss Park. The meetings brought together residents, TCHC staff, Toronto Police Service, the City's Violence Intervention and Support Unit, Fred Victor, and Unison Health and Community Services to discuss local safety concerns and identify solutions.
