Parents and Guardians: Report Student Vaccines!

Vaccines protect the health of our students and school communities. Under Ontario’s Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA), routine childhood vaccines (or a valid exemption) are required to attend school. Parents/guardians need to report vaccines to Toronto Public Health to avoid suspension on Toronto Public Health’s Report Student Vaccination (ISPA) webpage.

Where can my child get their vaccines?

All required school vaccines are publicly funded and available through primary health care providers or by appointment at a Toronto Public Health community clinic. The meningococcal vaccine is also available at school-based clinics through Toronto Public Health’s School Immunization Program (SIP) for students in grades 7 or 8.

How do I report my child’s vaccines?

Help is available. Submitting vaccine records online using ICON is fast and secure. For those who need assistance, there’s a how-to video and guide (also available in French). Records can also be reported in multiple languages and in many ways, including by mail or by phone, giving families flexible and accessible options to stay on track.

More than 130 residents participated in community safety meetings hosted by my office and Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) this spring in St. James Town and Moss Park. The meetings brought together residents, TCHC staff, Toronto Police Service, the City's Violence Intervention and Support Unit, Fred Victor, and Unison Health and Community Services to discuss local safety concerns and identify solutions.
