Participatory Budgeting 2025: Idea Phase Complete!

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the residents who participated in our recent 2025 Participatory Budgeting (PB) initiative. We collected an impressive 55 ideas for capital projects across the eight neighbourhoods canvassed, and I look forward to reviewing them all.

From now until September 30, ideas will undergo a review by City staff who will assess the feasibility and cost of implementing these projects. Once the ideas are reviewed and costed, they will go to a vote this October. Using our Toronto Centre Projects platform, residents in Cluster 1 (Bay Cloverhill, Bloor East, Church Wellesley Village, Upper Jarvis) Cluster 5 (St. Lawrence) and Cluster 6 (Canary District, Corktown, and Distillery District) will vote on which projects they would like to see funded.

If you live in one of those neighbourhoods, you will be able to vote on as many ideas as you'd like as long as their combined costs fit within the total $750,000 budget. Thank you once again for your active involvement and for bringing your wonderful ideas forward. Let's continue working together to shape the future of Toronto Centre.

More than 130 residents participated in community safety meetings hosted by my office and Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) this spring in St. James Town and Moss Park. The meetings brought together residents, TCHC staff, Toronto Police Service, the City's Violence Intervention and Support Unit, Fred Victor, and Unison Health and Community Services to discuss local safety concerns and identify solutions.
