Participatory Budgeting Returns in 2025!

This year, residents  from the Bay-Cloverhill, Church Wellesley and Upper Jarvis Neighbourhoods of Cluster 1, St. Lawrence of Cluster 5 and Corktown and Canary District Neighbourhoods of Clusters 6 are invited to join us for this in-person Participatory Budgeting Ideation Workshop!

Participatory Budgeting is a system of direct democracy where residents imagine how their neighbourhood could be improved, suggest potential ideas and then vote on how funds are spent to improve their community through capital projects. For Participatory Budgeting 2025, we are introducing a hybrid idea submission system where everything that is written on the in-person submission card will be scanned and submitted directly to our platform for other community members to show support for.

Please join us so we can provide you with more information and facilitate your capital project ideas at the following sessions:

What: Cluster 1 Participatory Budgeting Ideation Workshop
When: April 3, 6:00pm to 8:00pm
Where: The 519 Ballroom (519 Church Street)

What: Cluster 5 & 6 Participatory Budgeting Ideation Workshop

With the respiratory virus season underway, Toronto Public Health is strongly encouraging residents to use all available layers of protection to reduce respiratory virus spread, protect themselves and those who are most vulnerable, such as young children and older adults. Each layer of protection adds up and works best when used together, especially when respiratory virus activity is high.

In 2026 & 2027, revitalizing Downtown Toronto is tied to revitalizing Downtown East – but, troublingly, the City Budget calls for an almost 50% cut to the Downtown East Action Plan.
Together we need to raise the alarm, take action, and stop the cut because the Downtown East Action Plan is the key to transforming and revitalizing Downtown Toronto – both physically and economically.
