Where Permit Parking Applies: Area 7L Boundaries
Access to this new permit parking area is restricted exclusively for residents who live in Toronto Community Housing buildings. Please see below for more information.
The new Permit Parking Area 7L lies between Gerrard Street East to the north, Shuter Street to the south, Parliament Street to the west and River Street to the east. Not all streets within these boundaries are designated for permit parking; please pay attention to any street signs that have “7L” branded in the corner. That indicates a street where a parking permit for the 7L area will be valid.

Permit parking will be in effect daily from 12:01am to 7:00am. During these hours, vehicles parked without a valid permit will be subject to enforcement, including fines. If you have a parking permit, you will not be subject to 1-hour, 2-hour or unsigned 3-hour parking limits, and will not have to pay Green P fees to park in 7L areas. For a full list of benefits and restrictions, please visit the City’s permit parking website.
Toronto Community Housing Residents: How to Apply for a Parking Permit
Residents who park overnight on affected streets must obtain a valid permit from the City of Toronto. Those parking without a permit risk fines. You can apply in person or by mail.
This privilege is exclusive to residents of Toronto Community Housing tenants who live within the 7L boundaries. Prior to revitalization, Toronto Community Housing tenants in Regent Park had above ground parking lots with parking for their tenants. Through revitalization and with the start of Phases 4 & 5 construction, TCHC tenants have now lost this above ground parking. Limited underground parking within TCHC buildings has instead been made available. Using an equity lens, this parking will ensure those who most require affordable parking spaces will have an opportunity to obtain it.
You will require a letter from your Tenant Service Coordinator stating that you don't have current access to parking in your building. Their name and contact details are posted in your building. If you are not sure who your Tenant Service Coordinator is contact the Client Care Centre at 416-981-5500.
You can apply in person or send an application to the address below. If you apply by mail, ensure you include photocopies of documents and enclose a cheque made payable to ‘Treasurer, City of Toronto.’
