Regent Park Summer Jam Festival 2024

On June 1, residents gathered for the annual Regent Park Summer Jam Festival. As your local councillor, I was thrilled to witness families, friends and neighbours brought together to celebrate the vibrant heart of our community.

The festival featured various activities and attractions that delighted attendees of all ages. The colourful and energetic bouncy castles were a favourite among the younger participants.

I want to especially thank staff from all the City divisions and agencies that came out for the festival. Toronto Fire Services actively engaged community members about fire safety, while Toronto Water provided a much-welcomed water truck to keep everyone cool and hydrated. The aroma of sizzling barbecue filled the air, drawing festival-goers to the food stalls where Toronto Community Housing staff served delicious hot dogs and burgers.

A significant feature of this year's Summer Jam was the interactive community vote on naming a new street in Regent Park, empowering residents to have a direct say in our neighbourhood's future. The next step in this process is that Toronto Community Housing will submit the top four names that have been voted on by community for review by City Council.

This festival was more than just a day of fun; it celebrated our community spirit and togetherness, showcasing Regent Park's diversity. As the day drew to a close, the smiles on attendees' faces reminded me of the importance of community events in fostering a sense of belonging and unity. Thank you to everyone who participated in making this day unforgettable.
