Regent Park Youth Safety Forum – December 10, 2025

On the evening of December 10, 2025, Toronto Community Housing hosted the Regent Park Youth Safety Forum at the Centre of Excellence in the Regent Park Community Centre, in collaboration with the City of Toronto and my office. The event was led by Toronto Community Housing Tenant Services Coordinator Felicia Whyte and supported by multiple teams across Toronto Community Housing and the City, including Parks and Recreation and Social Development staff. Youth, parents, City staff, and community partners came together for an open and collaborative conversation focused on youth safety, wellbeing, and prevention.

The forum was held to strengthen youth safety efforts in Regent Park, create space for youth and families to share their experiences, and connect people to practical supports and opportunities. The discussion helped identify gaps in access to mentorship, mental health supports, and early intervention, while reinforcing the importance of trusted relationships between youth, families, and frontline staff. The meeting also advanced next steps around coordination, information-sharing, and ongoing engagement, contributing to broader efforts to create safer environments and expand opportunities for young people in the neighbourhood.

It was a strong evening focused on connection and community. Thank you to everyone who helped make the forum possible and to all who took part in the discussion. Events like this underscore the importance of working together to support young people and strengthen safety in Regent Park.

More than 130 residents participated in community safety meetings hosted by my office and Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) this spring in St. James Town and Moss Park. The meetings brought together residents, TCHC staff, Toronto Police Service, the City's Violence Intervention and Support Unit, Fred Victor, and Unison Health and Community Services to discuss local safety concerns and identify solutions.
