St. James Town Move Night: July 18

Enjoy free popcorn & free ice cream and a screening of Zootopia 2, courtesy of TCEU Local 416, plus drinks and entertainment from our office. It's a night out for the whole family — and it won't cost you a thing. We’ll even be giving away kids' CNE passes for kids under the age of 13!

When: July 18, 8:00pm to 11:00pm
Where: 200 Wellesley Street East (open space, east of building)

Following provincial legislation that stalled The Gerrard East Complete Street project, the City has identified a new approach to the streetscape and road design along Gerrard Street East (Sherbourne Street to River Street), which maintains motor vehicle lanes, in compliance with provincial direction. The revised design between Sherbourne Street and Parliament Street includes a uni-directional bikeway eastbound and westbound (on the north and south side) while future proofing for a bi-directional bikeway on the south side as originally envisioned.

One event I am always happy to promote is the great work the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Association's Waste Reduction Group (WRG) does with their regular REmarket events! Operating out of the St. Lawrence Market Tent at 125 The Esplanade, the WRG has done incredible work to reduce Toronto Centre's environmental impact. While they won't be returning until October 21 and 22 of 2026, I wanted to give them a special shoutout and opportunity to promote their own work.
