TMU Sprout Competition 2026

It was such an honour last month to adjudicate and co-host the 2026 TMU SPROUT Case Competition. From the early brainstorming and mentorship sessions to the final polished presentations, these undergraduate teams demonstrated that their incredibly bright minds are ready to take on the challenges facing our city.

The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) SPROUT Case Competition is an annual 4-day, interdisciplinary event hosted by the Society of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (SASSH), where undergraduate students tackle real-world industry challenges. Focused on collaboration, mentorship, and innovation, this year SPROUT partnered with my office on topics of placemaking, public realm improvements, and youth engagement in community development.

Congratulations to the winning teams and to every student who stepped up to the challenge. Special thanks to the organizers at TMU, SPROUT and SASSH for partnering with my office on this innovative program.
