Toronto’s successful Traffic Agent program continues to grow, with 58 new agents bringing the total to 100 active agents deployed to some of our city’s most congested intersections during peak traffic periods.
Traffic Agents play a vital role in managing congestion by preventing drivers from blocking intersections, discouraging illegal stopping or parking, and ensuring the safe flow of cyclists and pedestrians.
In the months ahead, another 27 additional Traffic Agents will be hired under Toronto’s 2026 Budget, so this coming year should see real strides and real progress being made towards better managing traffic and gridlock in our downtown core.
