The Centre of Excellence is a newly opened community space located inside the Regent Park Community Centre at 402 Shuter Street.
For many years, this part of the building was locked up and unused, but I had the space transferred to Parks and Recreation and reimagined as a community- focused hub. Our goal was to ensure this publicly-owned space could finally serve our neighbourhood.
The Centre of Excellence will provide dedicated space for mental health supports, arts and creativity studios, one-on-one therapy rooms, and job development and employment services. By transforming a previously inaccessible area into a welcoming community resource, the Centre of Excellence is helping expand opportunities, services, and support for residents in Regent Park.
