Charles Transfomer Station Hydro One upgrade project
Hydro One's Charles Transformer Station, located at 86 Charles St. East, plays a vital role in delivering safe and reliable electricity to Toronto Hydro, powering your community. Important upgrades to the station began in October and will continue through the end of 2027.
To facilitate the delivery of large equipment, Charles Street will be closed to vehicles between Church St. and Jarvis St. from April 26, 2026, to April 28, 2026, as detailed below. Police and flagging personnel will be on site to support pedestrian access and safety.
Charles St. will be closed:
- Sunday, April 26, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m
- Monday, April 27, from 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m
- Tuesday, April 28, from 9:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m
