$26.8m in Community Benefits Coming to Regent Park

Toronto Community Housing and Tridel have finalized a Community Benefits Agreement for Phases 4 and 5 of the Regent Park revitalization. Through this agreement, $26.8 million dollars will be invested directly into programs and supports for Regent Park residents.

More than 1,000 Regent Park residents voted to decide how these funds should be used. The package selected by residents places a strong focus on education, employment, and community spaces. The funding will support post secondary scholarships for Regent Park tenants, new and improved community spaces in revitalized buildings, job training and employment supports for local residents, wage funding tied to revitalization related jobs, and grants for community led initiatives such as youth programs, seniors supports, and neighbourhood events.
