The reconstruction of Gerrard St East from Sherbourne Street to River Street, which should have begun in 2023, has been postponed by Doug Ford and the Ontario government due to ongoing legal challenges to Bill 60 ”Fighting Delays, Building Faster Act, 2025”.
Complete streets that enable downtown residents to cycle safely are one of the most important ways we can fight gridlock and promote exercise and healthy lifestyles. It is truly unfortunate that Doug Ford would continue to play politics with the safety of downtown residents who are looking to cycle safely and ease gridlock.
