The Toronto Public Library (TPL) St. Lawrence Branch will be moving to 339 Queen Street East – a new space that will be six times larger than its current site! The new space will allow the library to transform into a larger district branch and bring exciting new opportunities to the Corktown, Regent Park, and St. Lawrence neighbourhoods it borders.
The new library location will be significantly larger, to accommodate more users, programming, and libary holdings. We’re also looking forward to this new District Library being more accessible, and becoming a community hub with the first-rate programs, services, and facilities that our TPL are renowned for.
To support it as a district branch, I have released $3 million in community benefits in order to fund enhanced library programming space, virtual interview rooms, and a digital innovation hub/fabrication studio–one of only two in the whole City–to ensure this branch is a jewel in TPL’s portfolio.
