Spring Recreation Program Registration: March 4 and 5!

Early registration for spring recreation older adult programs is now open! Older adults can now register for classes and activities that will actively engage bodies and minds ages 60 and up. Registration for all other programs opens at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4 for Etobicoke York and Toronto East York and Wednesday, March 5 for North York and Scarborough. 

The fastest and easiest way to register is online. Registration by phone is also available from 7:00am on the registration dates by calling 416-396-7378. In-person registration support at community centre locations will be open on the following dates from 7:00am to 12:00pm: 

Tuesday, March 4: 

  • Driftwood Community Centre (4401 Jane St.) 
  • Masaryk Cowan Community Centre (220 Cowan Ave.) 
  • Memorial Pool and Health Club (44 Montgomery Rd.)  
  • Regent Park Community Centre (402 Shuter St.) 
  • Wellesley Community Centre (495 Sherbourne St.) 
  • York Recreation Centre (115 Black Creek Dr.) 

  Wednesday, March 5:   

  • Centennial Recreation Centre (1967 Ellesmere Rd.)    
  • Dennis R. Timbrell Resource Centre (29 St. Dennis Dr.) 
  • Ethennonnhawahstihnen’ Community Centre (100 Ethennonnhawahstihnen’ Ln.) 
  • Malvern Community Recreation Centre (30 Sewells Rd.)

Preparing for Safe Consumption Site Closures

At the end of March, five safe consumption sites across Toronto are slated to close as a result of the Community Care and Recovery Act, which prohibits safe consumption sites within a 200 metre radius of schools and child care centres. As we prepare for this change, I wanted to provide an update and answers to some frequently asked questions.
