The Fair Pass Transit Discount Program is a City of Toronto poverty reduction initiative to help make TTC and Wheel-Trans more affordable for low-income Toronto residents. The Fair Pass discount is programmed onto a PRESTO card and saves cardholders 33% on TTC adult fare single rides and 21% on TTC adult monthly passes.

To apply for the discount City of Toronto residents must be 20-64 years old; receiving assistance through Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), Ontario Works (OW), Toronto Child Care Fee Subsidy, or Rent-Geared-to-Income Subsidy; and, have a PRESTO card. To be financially eligible for the discount, the applicant's family income must meet the program's definition of low-income.

Fair Pass applications cannot be completed without a PRESTO card. Free PRESTO cards are available at participating Toronto Public Library branches, while quantities last.
The Fair Pass discount is valid for 12 months from the date of issue; the funds on the PRESTO card will not expire
The PRESTO card with Fair Pass discount applied is not transferable and is intended for the approved Fair Pass client only

Wheel-Trans is a paratransit system operated by the TTC providing specialized door-to-door accessible transit services for persons with physical disabilities using its fleet of accessible minibuses or contracted accessible taxis. Users must register with the TTC who will typically grant access to those with permanent disabilities or show difficulty in travelling short distances. Wheel-Trans only provides service within the City of Toronto.

Applying for Wheel-Trans service
If your disability prevents you from using conventional transit some or all of the time, then you may wish to apply. Eligibility is not based on disability type, income or age. It is based solely on the presence of a disability that impacts a person’s ability to travel on conventional transit.

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) and the Toronto Public Library are working together to provide a complimentary PRESTO card to people who do not yet have one or may face challenges purchasing one.

Complimentary PRESTO cards are available at select Toronto Public Library branches (limit two per family). A brochure will be provided with each PRESTO card outlining how to load the card with funds or a monthly pass and how to use it when travelling on the TTC.

Physical PRESTO cards can be purchased for $4 at other locations including in select retail locations or in fare vending machines in all TTC subway stations.

Transit agencies offer discounted fares for eligible customers, including children, youth, and seniors. It is important to note that only PRESTO cards can be set with fare types, PRESTO contactless credit and debit cards cannot.

Adult	Everyone!	All PRESTO cards are adult by default.	No ID required.	Never expires.
Child	Ages 6-12 Note: Pre-school children under 5 travel free (without a PRESTO card) when accompanied by a fare-paying customer.	After the child’s 6th birthday, visit a participating Shoppers Drug Mart or a Customer Service Outlet location to set up their card. Proof of age is required.	Proof of age is required.	Expires on the child's 13th birthday and does not automatically switch to a Youth fare type.
Youth	Ages 13-19	After your 13th birthday, visit a participating Shoppers Drug Mart or Customer Service Outlet location to set up your card. Proof of age is required.	Proof of age is required.	Expires on your 20th birthday.
Senior	Ages 65+	After your 65th birthday, visit a participating Shoppers Drug Mart or Customer Service Outlet location to set up your card. Requires proof of age with photo ID.	Proof of age with photo ID is required.	Never expires.
Post-Secondary Student travelling on Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) Enables purchase of TTC Post-Secondary Monthly Pass for students.	Ages 20 to 64 AND enrolled full-time as a post-secondary student at an app roved school.	Get your TTC Post-Secondary ID from Bathurst Subway Station. Then set up your PRESTO card at a nearby Shoppers Drug Mart with your TTC ID.	TTC Post-Secondary ID is required.	Expires annually on October 31st. To apply for next year's Post Secondary fare type, visit the TTC website in August for the application start date.
