Over the weekend, a demonstration in support of Palestine made its way through Regent Park. At Parliament Street and Gerrard Street East the demonstration was interrupted when Toronto Police attempted to seize a truck that was in motion with people on its bed, in violation of the Highway Traffic Act.
Work on the Glen Road Pedestrian Bridge and Tunnel Replacement continues as the City works towards finishing this project this summer.

On March 18th, Toronto Public Health identified the second travel-related case of measles in Toronto this year. Today, they have been alerted to an additional risk of exposure related to the case that may affect Toronto Centre residents.
Toronto Police have informed me that this afternoon, there was a shooting at a residence near Dundas Street East and Parliament Street that left two people dead and one with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

On February 6 and 7, Toronto City Council held its first meeting of 2024. Amidst the busyness of budget season, important pieces of heritage were protected, updates were made to the City’s Noise Bylaw, and requests were made of the Province to increase the accessibility of Landlord and Tenant Board services.
In this special update, I explain what this year’s adopted budget means for us in Toronto Centre and the work to be done in the year ahead.
