Access to Recreation Program: Making Strides in Regent Park

The Access to Recreation Program has increased access to swimming lessons and facilities for local students at Winchester, Sprucecourt, Nelson Mandela, and Lord Dufferin schools.

The program’s success has been overwhelming, and its permanent status means more children can experience learning to swim. One key objective of Access to Recreation is to boost youth employment for local youth free workshops in resume writing, job application processes, interviewing and opportunities to gain pre-employment certifications such as CPR, first aid, aquatics & sports certifications.

The Access to Recreation Program continues to be a vital asset to our community, promoting physical wellness and valuable employment skills among our youth. Its impact is not just on the individual participants but the entire community, fostering a sense of pride and connection.
