Councillor Update - June 2025

Happy Pride Month! June is both a month of celebration and reflection on the progress the 2SLGBTQ+ community has made. With choppy international waters causing fear and uncertainty both south of the border and at home, I know many in our community are feeling a lot of anxiety. So if you need it, please make space for yourself this month.

There is a lot to do in the City this summer, and I encourage you to experience everything you can. For Pride events in June, please visit my online calendar to see what is happening here in Toronto Centre. If you are looking to enjoy an outdoor meal or drink, I have a list of CafeTO, sidewalk cafe and private patios for you to browse. Registration for summer recreation is also opening next week, including for swimming classes, art workshops and sports programs.

You can now travel the Toronto Islands with Bike Share, as there are new stations at Ward’s Island, Centre Island and Hanlan’s Point ferry docks as well as at Hanlan’s Beach. There is no better way to experience one of the greatest parks in the City, and with Centreville now fully opened and sandy beaches available, I encourage you and your family to get out and experience it!

While there is a lot going on in June, if you're a renter I encourage you to attend my TC: Talks: Tenant Rights on June 10. I'm very proud of how this season's series of discussions on topics such as noise and complete communities have brought a lot of information and ideas to my team. I know this discussion on rental housing will be an excellent event as well.

Yours in Service,

Chris Moise
City Councillor
Ward 13 - Toronto Centre
