Toronto now has a new Encampment Protocol with a multi-divisional approach to respond to the complex needs of those living outdoors.
Outreach staff work to facilitate access to indoor spaces, housing and wrap- around supports while clean-up crews remove waste and debris and ensure parks and other shared-use spaces are accessible to all. Other solutions such as micro shelters have the potential to turn vacant, under-utilized city-owned land into homes for the homeless and alleviate some of the stresses in our parks.
Should you see someone experiencing homelessness who may need outreach support, please contact 311. Staff will continue to visit the location to connect with the individual, monitor their needs and offer available services.

As your councillor, enhancing equitable access to recreation facilities has been a key priority. Just like you, I value the Moss Park Arena, our only indoor arena downtown, along with the vibrant outdoor Ice Rink in Regent Park.
The Access to Recreation Program has increased access to swimming lessons and facilities for local students at Winchester, Sprucecourt, Nelson Mandela, and Lord Dufferin schools.
