Every year I host six Neighbourhood Town Halls in the fall to provide updates to the local community and give residents a chance to ask direct questions. There are three left, one at Central Neighbourhood House on October 15, one at the 519 Community Centre on October 23 and a virtual town hall on November 4. I am happy to share that after years of advocacy and a year and a half since my motion was adopted by Council, we now have a comprehensive City-Wide Dog Off-Leash Strategy in place. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Toronto Dog Park Community, Paws for Parks, and the residents of Toronto Centre for their persistent advocacy and input throughout this process.

Toronto now has a new Encampment Protocol with a multi-divisional approach to respond to the complex needs of those living outdoors.
One of my priorities is using under-utilized City lands for deeply affordable housing, as part of a comprehensive plan to increase supportive and affordable housing in Toronto Centre.
In 2023, over 50% of rental units approved for demolition and replacement across the city were in Toronto Centre.
A common complaint is that City bylaws are not sufficiently responsive to climate change and encourage landlords to keep the heat on unnecessarily.
Since the end of the pandemic, residents have had real concerns about the condition of our Downtown East, including public drug use, encampments, homelessness, unclean laneways and sidewalks, graffiti, broken windows, break-ins, public intoxication, used needles, and a noticeable lack of visible enforcement.
