PB 2023 Funding Approved, PB 2024 Launches April 13

I want to extend a warm thank you to all residents who joined my first annual Participatory Budgeting (PB) exercise in 2023; we could not have done it without you!

I want to extend a warm thank you to all residents who joined my first annual Participatory Budgeting (PB) exercise in 2023; we could not have done it without you! As of March 21, 15 PB 2023 items have received section 37 funds through City Council to move forward. Some items do require additional work and will be funded through a future motion to City Council.

For almost a year, my office has been working hard to shape resident ideas into viable projects. This latest approval at City Council will provide local Business Improvement Areas, community non-profits and City of Toronto divisions the funding needed to begin these projects in 2024.

Zone 1: Bay Cloverhill, Church Wellesley, Upper Jarvis

Zone 5: St Lawrence Neighbourhood

Zone 6: Corktown, Distillery and Canary District

On top of these projects from 2023 Participatory Budgeting, there are still six projects being discussed between staff for a future funding release.

Check out these new PB projects in your neighbourhood page!

Doug Ford’s campaign of cruelty against marginalized people living with addiction challenges continues to worsen – and he’s making our entire downtown increasingly unsafe in the process. Ford continues to ignore professionals, experts, researchers, and medical advice in the process as he tries to shut down two of the last remaining supervised consumption services (SCSs) in the Downtown East.
