In Toronto, you are only allowed to set off consumer fireworks without a permit on Victoria Day (May 18 this year) and Canada Day on your own private property until 11:00pm. On all other days, you need a permit. Before celebrating with fireworks, it’s important to know when and where they are allowed, how to use them safely and how to dispose of them correctly.
From 11:00pm on Friday, May 8 until 5:00am on Monday, May 11, the Don Valley Parkway (DVP) will be closed from Hihgway 401 to the Jarvis Street exit on the Gardiner Expressway for maintenance, cleaning and inspection.
