The City has partnered with Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests (LEAF) to offer backyard tree planting services to Toronto residents. LEAF offers native deciduous trees, evergreen trees or shrubs, with either a full-service planting option or a do-it-yourself option. You can get a new tree planted at a subsidized cost!

The City’s fall recreation activity listings are now available to view online and add to your wish list ahead of registration opening in mid-September. Activities include arts and crafts, sports, yoga, fitness, skating and more!
This summer check out the UpFRONT Festival of Indigenous Arts, Music & Culture, a vibrant, free outdoor event happening August 15 to 17 in Berczy Park and Scott Street in downtown Tkaronto. As the end of summer approaches, I hope you have some time this month to relax and get to all those projects around the house you haven't had time for. We have had a very hot summer this year, and I hope you have managed to stay cool. Today marks an important milestone for the City of Toronto as it celebrates the graduation of 40 new Traffic Agents. This initiative is part of the city’s ongoing commitment to improving traffic flow and ensuring safer streets for all residents. With these new agents on board, the city aims to enhance its congestion management efforts and keep Toronto moving smoothly.
On Sunday, July 20, our community came together to celebrate the official opening of Louis March Park--formerly Sumach-Shuter Parkette--a revitalized green space renamed in honour of the late Louis March. This renaming recognizes his lifelong commitment to community safety, youth advocacy and violence prevention, as well as the contributions of other leaders who have helped shape our neighbourhood.
Join me and CUPE Local 416 for our annual Family-Friendly Movie Nights in the Park, where community fun meets cinematic magic under the stars! On September 5 from 8:00pm to 11:00pm on the open space behind 200 Wellesley Street East, you can enjoy a free outdoor movie screening, popcorn and drinks!
At our meeting on July 23 and 24, City Council revisited the City’s Winter Maintenance Program and welcomed our new Medical Officer of Health.
